Brighton: Day trip idea from London. And what a great idea! After being in London for a few weeks I wanted to get outside of the City and go explore somewhere else. So I hopped on a train and headed to Brighton. And here are the reasons why you should to!
_____
The train ride
First up the convenience of it. Get on that train around 8 am at London Bridge station get to Brighton by 9 am. So easy! The tickets are cheap and run so many times during the day you will always catch one. I booked mine the day before and got an all-day ticket so I would not have to run. With these ones you can get on any train back-and-forth, FREEDOM.

The beach
Well do I really need to elaborate? Ok I will. After days in the city walking everywhere among cars, buses, PEOPLE. It just felt nice to be sitting on rocks and relax thanks to the sounds of waves. But beware if you want to bring your swimsuit, this ain’t the Mediterranean, it is the Channel…. COLD.
The Architecture
Cute houses, cute streets, pretty colors. Booya.
The Lanes
Speaking of architecture. The city is famous for the “lanes” these red-bricked, narrow streets with many shops and restaurants everywhere. You can easily walk around all of it in just one day without feeling rushed. For lunch I stopped by French restaurant (not on purpose I swear) and reaaaally wanted to try this cute coffee place.
Is there more?
Well… do you actually need more convincing? If you insist… Maybe you miss London museums in that case you can check out the Royal Pavilion and the Brighton Museum and art gallery. Finally if being close to the sea inspires you to learn more about its creatures head over to the aquarium by the pier. I would say keep these for bad rainy/foggy weather because the town is just so cute to discover by walking.
There you have it, a fine day planned outside London!
Don’t forget to check the custom Google map of Brighton I created!
